Doctoral program « Public Administration » 2019

The doctoral program “Public Administration” is a non-CUSO program jointly offered by the University of Lausanne, the University of Berne and the University of Lugano. Leading house is the IDHEAP at the University of Lausanne. The program continues the ProDoc program with the same name funded by the SNF for the time 2009 to 2014.

The doctoral program is open to all PhD students registered in a Swiss university whose subject is linked to public administration or public governance.

It consists of compulsory and optional courses combining theory, methods and additional skills. Active participation in conferences, publications and teaching activities is encouraged. The program also incites students to organize additional learning activities. An individualized support in research design, methods and statistics is provided by the program.

It brings the students in contact with leading scholars and makes them familiar with the most outstanding achievements and publications. They receive the necessary training in support of their research and incite them to share their thoughts on the state of progress of their work and on their results. The number of ECTS credits required amounts to 15.

The learning agreement requires PhD students to stipulate their training needs as well as specifies the courses they wish to attend. This document must be completed by the PhD student and his/her supervisor to register to the Doctoral Training program.
