Finance for thesis co-supervision

SERI grants

The State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation (SERI) offers financial support for individual thesis co-supervision projects provided they are covered by a co-supervision agreement between a Swiss university and a partner university anywhere in Europe, including Israel. A maximum grant of CHF 10,000 will be paid to the Swiss university and must be used primarily to facilitate mobility of the doctoral student and the thesis supervisor.

Those eligible are doctoral students with a Swiss passport or holders of a B, C or G residence permit, registered at a Swiss university, aged under 40 when submitting the application, who have studied in Switzerland for at least one year (2 semesters) prior to signing the co-supervision agreement at a Swiss university (Bachelor, Master or doctoral level). Applications from individuals based in Lausanne must be submitted to the International Relations Office for examination and collective dispatch to Berne. For more information, visit the swissuniversities website.
